SubC Partner Nominated for Innovation Project of the Year 2024!
We are incredibly proud and honored to announce that SubC Partner has been nominated for Innovation Project of the Year 2024 by Energy Cluster Denmark for our groundbreaking ACOMAR project! The winner will be announced at Energy Cluster Denmark's annual meeting on May 2nd.
What is ACOMAR?
ACOMAR is a specially designed underwater robot that can autonomously inspect and remove marine biofouling offshore. This innovative project has the potential to revolutionize the maintenance of offshore structures, such as wind turbine foundations, by offering a more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solution compared to traditional methods.
Why is ACOMAR innovative?
ACOMAR sets itself apart from other underwater robots in several ways:
- Semi-autonomy: ACOMAR can navigate and operate independently, reducing the need for human intervention and improving safety.
- High-pressure water jetting: ACOMAR effectively removes marine biofouling using high-pressure water jetting, which is a gentler method compared to traditional methods like sandblasting.
- Compact design: ACOMAR's compact design makes it easy to transport and deploy, making it an ideal solution for offshore use.
